These are some of the books I have read or are currently reading. I have added my own little opinion of the book. I enjoy reading :+)
Deluxe
This was a great read about the history of the luxury industry. It didn't go into the depth that I wanted to but provided a nice story of the major brands and what they did to accomplish their success. It also provides insight into how luxury brands target the middle class and make a massive profit from it. A great read!
Fast boat to China
Over the last two decades, a large amount of IT jobs have vanished from the North America market and settled overseas. This is the tale of just that phenomenon.
Coal - A Human History
Coal has had a profound effect on human history. From when it was first discovered and studied to it application to our lives. I found this books great an excellent history of coal. I found this book went the extra mile as for including the future of coal too. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone.
Pyongyang
I was very surprised when I began reading this book. The book is like a large cartoon. The author, a cartoonist did a fabulous job in describing his experiences in North Korea. I at his descriptions of life there. I read this book in a matter of hours of getting it. A definite must!
Flightpath
Westjet, how its made air travel in Canada fun and affordable. A very good biography of the startup phase to their maturity. I really enjoyed the part of how the owners 'stole' their plane back from a California company. A truly Canadian way :+P
Developing Global Executives
I picked up this book and thought it was about one thing and it turned out to be something else. I did enjoy this book and will probably will read it again as my career progresses.
A Thread Across The Ocean
This book is all about the adventure of getting that first cable across the ocean for communication. This book tells it all. Right from the beginning of the idea to the trails and tests of actually getting it across and then finally doing it. I found this book gave great insight into the technology of the era and how they utilized what they had to get this accomplished. A great read.
Never eat alone
Relationship building is key not only in business but also in life. But its not just building relationship to better ones self, its the quality of relationships and being generous. I use the wisdom from this book everyday. A great read!
I Know That Name!
Ever wanted to know where that Canadian company name came from and what its history is. This is the book for you. Its very well documented and the just the curiosity should get you to read this one. A fun read and good to have on hand for when you come home from shopping :+)
Leadership
This book has had the most profound effect on me. I absolutely loved this book. For anyone who wishes to change the direction in life and really change the way you think and approach problems. This book is the bible for that. I recommend everyone read this book.
We Did Nothing
This book was awesome. She has had some very interesting experiences with the UN. Her accounts are vivid and moving. Especially the end of the book.
The Bombardier Story
An excellent book about the rise of Bombardier from it's little beginnings in Quebec to it's global importance in the 21 century. A definite recommendation to anyone to learn about Canadian business or history in general.
War Law
A very interesting book about international law and armed conflict. Just start to read it (Nov 16th 2005), ill keep ya posted. So far, its excellent !
